IS FOSTER CARE THE DIFFERENCE YOU ARE MEANT TO MAKE?
ATTEND AN INFO MEETING
Info Meetings are for potential foster and adoptive parents, their support team members and anyone interested in learning more about the Colorado foster care system and Project 1.27. |
SELECT A CHILD PLACEMENT AGENCY TO WORK WITH
There are four agencies in Delta County that can certify foster homes. Project 1.27 can help you learn more about the agencies so you can select the one that is the best fit for your family. The agency will provide the training, home study, background checks, and other pieces of your certification. |
BUILD YOUR SUPPORT TEAM
Your Support Team is a dedicated group of friends and family members committed to walking alongside you in your foster or adoptive journey. Having a strong support network can mean the difference between thriving and feeling isolated. To help you and your team navigate this journey, Project 1.27 offers specialized training in addition to the one provided by your agency. We encourage you to bring at least four Support Tema Members to this training, where they'll learn how to offer practical help- whether it's preparing meals during busy times, assisting with housework, or providing transportation for appointments and family visits. |
OPENED MY EYES
The training opened my eyes to the real need of foster parents. Learning everything we did about being foster parents and the impact that can have on a child's life and in their family’s life was really incredible. We feel very thankful to have found your organization!
