WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MENTOR
Mentors in the New Ground Program are caring adults committed to supporting young adults, ages 18-24, who are transitioning out of foster care. They offer guidance, share life experiences, and provide encouragement. Most importantly, they build genuine friendships and help young adults feel connected to their communities. Becoming a mentor is a meaningful way to make a lasting difference in the life of someone transitioning out of foster care. Mentors don’t need to have all the answers - they just need to show up. We will provide mentors with training and ongoing support to ensure success in each match.
